You may wonder, what that is, theologia is going be a bible study platform where those who desire to know more about God’s word can get materials, and access resources that will help them grow in the knowledge of God and his Word.

We are excited to get you started on this journey with us, so we request your prayers and begin this series of devotions.

Devotion:

For our Meditation this morning, I’d like to turn your attention to

Deuteronomy 28:12 NIV

Deuteronomy 28:12 is also the Word for February 2023, I pray will bless you and strengthen and fill your heart with his Hope as you hear from this word.

Let’s read this word

Deuteronomy 28:12 NIV

12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

If you look at Israel as a nation, there were some who passionately followed God, there were some who went along with the majority of the camp, and there were some who were disobedient to God.

The Message that Goes out to all of them is..

Obey the Lord your God.

Deuteronomy 28:1–2 NIV

1 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

I think as Christians, we underestimate the power and blessings that come with obedience..so much so that, we tend to go through seasons where we are very obedient to the LORD and seasons where we don’t obey at all.

From time to time, we keep shifting from one to another. But I believe, it’s important for us to remember that we need to obey God at all times.

Not just when I feel like it. But even when I don’t feel like it. I need to obey God.

Obeying God is Important, & Necessary because it unlocks God’s blessing over our Life.

What are those blessings?

The one we are looking at in particular is this,

Deuteronomy 28:12 NIV

12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

Two blessings:

  1. Send Rain on your land to Bless all the work of your hands
  2. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

Let’s look at the first one:

  • A Farmer understands the importance of RAIN. Even the rain should be the right amount of Rain. Because if it’s the crops will not yield much. If it’s more the crops will be washed away.

The farmer plants the crops and waits for the Rain. Kinda like saying, God, I’ve done my part, you do the rest. You bless the work of my hands.

There’s an analogy here:

Similarly,

  • There is work that we have to do.
  • There is a task that we have to complete.
  • After that’s done, our prayer should be, Lord Bless the work of my hands.

When God does that, there will be a blessing in our Life.Sometimes, we may think, well I am a hard worker and I can make things happen for myself. That’s not true. Our Blessings and our prosperity depend on God.

We do the work faithfully and allow God to do the rest. That’s how we prosper.

And when God blesses us, we will come to a stage when we will not be the borrowers but the lenders.

What does this mean?

  • We will be blessed sufficiently so that every need of ours is met.
  • Not only that, we will be able to meet the needs of others as well.

As we begin this new month, let us remember, God expects us to be obedient to him, and as we obey him. He will surely bless us.

If you feel like your life has become stagnant, with nowhere to turn, and all opportunities are closing in on you, check yourself to see how obedient you are to the Lord.

If there is a problem fix it, and God will bless you.

Let’s pray:

Father, you are the Lord who expects obedience from us, and God you are the one who blesses us. I pray that as I begin this month, you help us to be more sensitive to your voice, and more obedient to our word so that we may live in the way you want us to so that we may experience your blessings in our Life.

Help us, Lord, in Jesus’ name:

Amen.
