Psalm 1:1–2 NIV

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

This Psalm talks about the one, the blessed one, who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the company of mockers… rather this person delights in God’s word, and meditates on them day and night.

In this world, there are many ways to Live Life. We can choose to like the righteous or live like an unrighteous man. We choose to walk with people who LOVE Jesus or choose to walk with people who hate God. The choice is ours. The result of such a choice is that we will be blessed and prospered by God.

There are some who chose to live with the righteous in the morning and chose to join hands with the wicked at night. That is why they indulge in secret sins and are unable to overcome their addictions.

God’s word calls us to live a life that is NOT partially devoted to him but completely devoted to him.

I wonder if you are devoted to him today. If not, make this prayer asking God to help you walk with him consistently, and fully devoted every day.

Let’s Pray

Lord, the world tempts and pulls in many directions. We have often fallen and given into those temptations but today we pray that you help us be fully devoted to you, that we may walk with the righteous, and will mediate on your word day and night. Help us to be that blessed one. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
