Psalm 34:18 NIV
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
When we are broken, when we walk through a season of brokenness, when we are hurt, when we are abused, when people reject us, and when the trust is broken, there is something that happens to us that is unexplainable. Sometimes only the tears that come out of our eyes can explain what we are going through. There is a brokenness that cannot be fixed by any human being on earth and the Bible reminds us that when we go through brokenness, when we are brokenhearted when we experience disappointments or anything in life, the Lord is close to us and the Bible also goes on to say that he saves those who are crushed in the spirit.
I don’t know how you find yourself this morning. It’s a new day. You’ve woken up to see another day, but still, there is a brokenness that is keeping you down. That is not letting you live the life that God has called you to live and sometimes you may wonder, how do I deal with this? How do I deal with my brokenness? At this time, you have to remind yourself of what the scripture says, that God is close to the brokenhearted. So remember this, when you are broken, God is closer to you than ever. And what does it mean that God is close to us?
He will comfort us. He will heal us, and he will restore us and more than anything, he will make us live again. Because when we are hurt by people and when we are affected by the situation, we may lose hope. But because God is there for us, our hope will be restored once again. So as you begin your day, do not lose hope.
Remember this, when you’re broken, God is close to you.
Let’s pray
Father, we thank you for who you are. Thank you for your word. Thank you that you are close to the brokenhearted and you save those who are crushed in the spirit. I pray for anyone listening who is experiencing brokenness, failure, and disappointment. I pray that they will experience your presence more than ever. Comfort them, Lord, heal them and restore them. And make them live again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
