Shift your Focus

Shift your Focus

Listen to Audio Devotion

Good Morning, Welcome to a New Day, I Hope you are doing well.

I’d like to continue the devotion from what I shared with you yesterday. Just to recap, I spoke about, “Just doing it.” In other words to be obedient, and so committed to God’s word that we obey without delaying or waiting for the perfect time.

That’s what I shared Yesterday.
Now, some might have this question. You might say, Yes, I want to get rid off that old life, I want to change, I want to become a new Person. I want to be different. I want to be who God wants me to be.

So, where do I start? What’s the first step?

Here’s what you must do. The Word of God instructs us this way in

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. – Colossians 3:2

If you desire to make a change, this is what you need to do.

Shift your Focus.
Shift your focus from the WORLD to CHRIST.
Shift your focus from the desires of the FLESH to God’s will for your life.
Shift your focus from things below to things above.

In other words, we need to stop thinking like the world and start thinking like a child of God. Instead of prioritizing worldly desires, we must now prioritize what God desires to do through us.

Listen carefully,

It is only when we make this change, it is only when we shift our focus. We can get rid of everything that is sinful but if we don’t then we will continue to hold on to our sinful ways and probably, even justify SIN.. thinking…it’s okay, everyone struggles with sin.. Not a big deal.

Remember,
People justify their sins because they haven’t shifted their focus yet.

The Bible calls us to shift our focus.
I wonder if you have shifted your focus today.
I wonder if you have set your mind on things above?

Let’s Pray

Lord, Help us to shift our focus toward you. Help us shift our minds to the things of God so that we may escape the works of the flesh, lust, and everything that is destroying our life today. We pray that you help us change. In Jesus’ name.

Amen.
