Yesterday I shared a word from

Colossians 3:8 NIV

8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

When we hear such verses, we know that there is an issue that we are battling with and this word is coming straight to us…and we know we have to deal with that issue… however, we put it off saying, I’ll deal with it later. Hoping that someday you will have the strength to overcome and the courage to say NO to sin.

But here’s the truth, if we wait for the perfect day to arrive…it’s Never going to. That is why, it’s always wise to respond to God’s word the moment we hear it. When we know something is wrong, God isn’t pleased…We must take action immediately.

Here’s what the word encourages us,

Hebrews 3:15 NIV

…“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”

If we ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit and think, let me do it later. Here’s what we are doing. We are hardening our hearts. We intentionally chose not to respond to God’s word. The danger with that is, the more we harden, the more it becomes easy to ignore God’s word the next time we hear it.

So, if there is any issue that needs to be dealt with, something that the holy spirit has been convicting us. Make that change right now. Just do it. Don’t wait for the right opportunity but just do it.

As a result, you will be able to overcome sin and live a victorious life in Christ Jesus.

Let’s Pray,

Lord, Help us not to procrastinate but obey immediately. Help us to fix those areas of life right now, at this very moment. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
