3 Rules to be Successful, Part 2

Audio Devotion will be uploaded shortly.

Good Morning, We hope you are doing well. I’d like to continue my series of devotions on 3 Rules to be Successful. Yesterday, I shared with you rule number 1 ..i.e., Acknowledge & Honor God in everything, which means we have to invite him into our everyday work and seek his counsel. When we do, we will succeed.

Today I’d like to share with you the second rule to be successful.

Turn with me to,

These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts;

Zechariah 8:16 NIV

The Bible encourages us to, “speak truth to each other” In our interactions, in our dealings, we are to speak the truth with each other.

If you compare that with the habits of the world, it may seem, if you speak a bit of lies, and adjust where ever possible then you will be blessed with riches. Speaking the truth can be harmful to your career and the opportunities that you may receive. But, the Bible clearly encourages us to speak the truth to one another.

Why does it say that?

  • When we conduct ourselves truthfully, we build trust with others because they know that we can be fully trusted at all times.
  • When we speak the truth, we allow God to have his way in everything we do — because speaking the truth can mean losing an opportunity but when we still speak the truth. We give the rest to God and even if it’s not in our favor. He will cause the situation to become favorable towards us.
  • When we speak the truth, we represent God’s nature through our lives

And so, the more we represent God everywhere we go. His blessings and favor will follow us.

Here’s what the bible says.

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.

Proverbs 10:22 NIV

Let’s Pray

Father, we pray that you help us to speak truthfully to everyone no matter how difficult it gets. Help us to remember that when we speak the truth, we represent you. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
