Not so faithful

2 Timothy 2:13 NIV

13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.

When we look at the characteristics of our God, the bible says, He is a faithful God. He is faithful to his promises. He is faithful to his word. At no point will He become unfaithful to us. He is always faithful.

But we go through seasons where we are really faithful to the LORD and then times when we are not so faithful. There are times when fully committed in our devotion and love to the LORD but times when we are distracted and lost at times. And so, we may wonder why does that happen?

We live in a world that is marred by sin and even though we are saved, we must be sanctified every day. What does that mean? We must allow God to cleanse and purify us of anything that could contaminate our faith and our walk with the Lord. The more we seek him, the more we will be able to overcome sin and be faithful to Christ.

As you begin this day, make this as part of your prayer, that GOD sanctify and make me holy.

Let’s pray

Lord help us to be faithful to you. We acknowledge that we have failed but help us Jesus to overcome every sin, every thought that causes us to fall. Help us to be faithful to you forever. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
